Joseph stayed in Canada and helped on his father’s farm in Claremont. He represented P{ickering Tpownship on County Councils for 15 years. He was President of the Age Society, Justice of the Peace, Clerk and Deacon of the Claremont Baptist Church and was later licenced to Preach. Joseph was a liberal and supporter of William Lyon McKenzie.
