-Deacon Joseph Easton was born in 1602 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. He married Sarah or Mary about 1639 At Hartford, Connecticut. Joseph emigrated to Newtowne (Cambridge), Massachusetts in 1634. They were Puritans. He joined the Thomas Hooker movement and relocated to Hartford, Connecticut. He was a farmer “Husbandman”. He was also Constable for Hartford in 1657/58.
 
Their son Joseph Easton married Hannah Ensign, daughter of James Ensign and Sarah Elson. In the next generation their son Jonathan married Elizabeth Cadwell, daughter of Edward Cadwell and Elizabeth Butler.
