-Deacon Richard Butler, born in about 1610 in England, migrated in 1633 to Cambridge Massachusetts. He moved to Hartford Connecticut in 1636 with Reverend Thomas Hooker. He was a Puritan. He married as his second wife Elizabeth Bigelow in 1641 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was the Deputy for Hartford to the Connecticut General Court in 1659/60. He is on the Hartford Founders monument in Hartford, Connecticut.
Their son Sergeant Thomas Butler married Sarah Stone, daughter of Reverend Samuel Stone and Hope Flectcher. In the next generation their daughter Elizabeth Butler married Edward Cadwell.
