-Nathaniel Treadway was born on 7 August 1615 in England, the son of Nathaniel Treadway and Mary Howe, sister to Edward Howe pioneer. He emigrated to Watertown, Massachusetts in 1630. He moved to Duxbury, Massachusetts where he was one of the original grantees of the Sudbury Plantation in 1639. He married Sufference Howe on 10 May 1640 in Watertown. She was the daughter of Edward Howe and Margaret Wells of Watertown. Nathaniel was a weaver by trade.
Their daughter Lydia married Captain Josiah Lewis Jones, son of Lewis J. Jones and Anne Stone.
