-Deacon Edward Frances Stebbins, born 24 February 1595 in Essex, England and his wife Francis Tough was born in Leicestershire, England in 1596. They Were Puritans. They arrived in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1633. He was made a “freeman” in 1634, the same day as Reverend Thomas Hooker. He was one of the “Adventurers Party” of 25 who explored that area that would become Hartford, Connecticut. He moved to Hartford in 1636. He was a Deacon in Thomas Hooker’s Church. He was Constable for Hartford in 1638 and was a Deputy on various occasion between 1637 and 1656.
 
Their daughter Elizabeth Stebbins was married to Thomas Cadwell of Hartford. In the next generation their daughter Elizabeth Cadwell was married to Jonathan Easton.
