-Gysbert Cornelis Van Den Berg was born about 1620 at Weesp, Netherlands, the son of Cornelis Van Den Berg and Catrina Van TWel. He married Lysbeth Segers (Van Voorhoudt) born about 1627 in Leiden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands and they emigrated to New Amsterdam before 1645. He is charged 32 pounds from 1647 to 1652 a year for right of the fur trade and 40 pounds a year to for a licence to sell liquor. He was likely a tavern keeper.
Their son William Van Den Berg married Catryn Van Der Poel. In the next generation their son Wynand married Volkije Van Hoesen.
