-John Norton was born about 1622 in England. He married Dorothy Rowley in 1644 in Bradford in about 1644. He emigrated to Connecticut by 1644. He was in Branford, Connecticut by 7 July 1646 and then in Hartford by 1659. In September 1659 he purchased land in Hartford and also owned property in Farmington before 1659 when he moved there. He was admitted to the Church in Farmington, Connecticut in 1661. He sold some of his property to Ensign Hared Spencer.
His daughter Elizabeth Norton married John Plumb. In the next generation their daughter Elizabeth Plumb married Samuel Hickox.
