John Uvedale was the Sheriff of Hampshire when King Henry V went to France to the Battle of Agincourt, John had to empanel a jury for the trial of those involved in the “Southampton Plot”, being Richard of Conisburgh, the 3rd Earl of Cambridge, Henry Scrope the 3rd Baron Scrope of Masham and Sir Thomas Grey. All where beheaded in early August before the army left for France.
John Uvedale, Esq, of Southampton received a mandate on the ocassion of making an array against the arms of Spain in anticipation of an invasion from that country.108
