Notes for Walter Palmer - Direct Ancestor
Came to America in 1629.200 Came with his brother Abraham Palmer.
They travelled through the wilderness to a place where he built the first house in what they called Charlestown, named after the king. He stayed there until 1643.
Walter met William Cheesebrough and they moved to the Plymouth Colony. They set up a new independant township called Rehoboth.
Walter was admitted a Freeman of Massachusetts on 18 May 1631.
Walter is recognized as one of the founders of Stonington, Connecticut, U.S.A.
The first church services in Stonington were held in Walter Palmer’s house.
