Notes for John Foy - DDirect Ancestor
“John formed a partnership with a man by the name of Lord. The company was called Lord & Foy. The made a lot of money in timber and mills then they split up. Lord retired but John Foy went on to build his own boats to ship his lumber to the old country. The boats were lost at sea. With no insurance he died as poor a man as he had started. His philosophy was “It is better to have made it and lost than never to have made it at all”. He did blacksmithing for a living.”
