-Thomas Cadwell, born in about 1630, is first recorded in Hartford, Connecticut in 1652. He married Elizabeth Stebbins, daughter of Deacon Edward Stebbins and Frances Tough and the widow of Robert Wilson. They were Puritans. Thomas was a fence viewer in 1655 and was Constable of Hartford in 1662. He operated a ferry at Hartford for about 14 years.
Their son Edward married Elizabeth Butler, daughter of Sergeant Thomas Butler and Sarah Stone. In the next generation their daughter Elizabeth Cadwell married Jonathan Easton, son of Joseph Easton and Hannah Ensign.
