Notes for Thomas Henry Hook
In 1871 they rented a farm in Grant County, Huron County with a yoke of oxen, a grain cradle and other primiative farm tools. Later they bought a farm in Brookfield Township. About 1915, Mr. Hook gave up farm work and was employed as a section foreman for the Grand Trunk Railway for 16 years. He then sold his farm and bought a five acre plot of ground a mile south of Owendale. They were both members of the Evangelical Church in Owendale, where Mr. Hook was the teacher of the Men’s Bible Class and Mrs. Hook was active in the affairs of the Ladies Aid Society.
